14 Dec 2005

For days we've been trying to narrow down which tours we'd like to take and finally decided last night on two. We make our way back to the tour agency in the city, managing to get on only one tour. If you thought that the way comedies make fun of the way Japanese speak was just an exaggeration, you should have been at the tour agency. Shirley thought she would escape all forms of Japan when she got here until today. He was the epitome of the image that most westerners have of Asians; slit eyes, buck teeth and even the replacement of certain letters of the alphabet.

With that out of the way it was another day of shopping and photo opportunities.

Since yesterday, Shirley wanted to check what Crazy Clarks had to offer. We spent quite a while there picking out cheap presents and mucked around a bit before we had to get groceries and head home to cook. Shirley decided to cook today and I was pulled in to be the assistant once again. At the same time she got stuff for tonight, I got some for Saturday's dinner which no one was told about. No hype, no proper guests, no fuss, no stress!

With today's menu, and since she already seasoned her mortar, my sis made her favourite accompliment to almost any food, sambal belacan. After yesterday's big dinner, the whole kitchen floor was oily and the sink was full of crap. Since Shirley and I were in the kitchen, and my sis had been doing the laundry, Michelle put in her bit and cleaned up the floor, which was much appreciated. Somehow Shirley and Michelle looked like 2 cleaning ladies and made us laugh really hard when they decided to ruffle through the laundry.

Everybody Eat Rice!

During dinner Michelle started talking about hair and I knew for a while she wanted to do something with mine. So I wondered about braiding mine and she said she'll do it. Well it didn't exactly end up the way I wanted but it was really nice not haveing to bother with your hair everyday. Plus with the scalp being exposed, it was much cooler when the winds sweep right over. With immobility comes pampering as well as torture.

What The....???

And then we're off to go show it off at Burswood. With crap information, the club, we intended to go to, closed at 1am instead of 2am. Arriving at 12.40am left us with enough time to get a drink and make fun of people. So we ended up having a few more drinks in the casino area and some supper.
