When we finally got ourselves out of the room and had breakfast, our transport soon came to whisk us away on our tour. Since we couldn't get our first choice of going to Hong Kong & Disneyland, we made the best of our Bangkok trip by getting ourselves into Dream World - the world of happiness.... or so it said on it's website. Well it looked like a copy of some of the more well-known theme/amusement parks and so right from the start we were rather happy with our choice to visit this place.
Right at the entrance to the park, your tickets were collected by staff dressed as toy soldiers. We didn't have tickets but rather a sticker to indicate that we were part of a package that allowed us unlimited rides on almost every one of them as well as entry to Snow Town, the current stunt show they had on and a buffet lunch. Just after the entrance, it was photo opportunity after photo opportunity, in areas between each ride or in a whole spot with a theme. Even the landscape was made to be part of beautiful photos or tell a story in that section of the park. The creativity also flowed over the designs for directions to the restrooms .....
First mini (literally) themed area we spotted was the 7 Wonders Of The World where they had miniature replicas of symbolic structures from around the world. We forgot all about the Great Wall Of China but it ended up in the video I took on our train ride later anyway.
Angkor Wat
Colosseum
Take A Peek
Eiffel Tower
Taj Mahal
Stone Henge In Thailand!
The Statue Of Liberty
The Great Pyramid(s) Of Giza
Leaning Tower Of Pisa
Royal Palace and Temple of the Emerald Buddha
From something miniature, we made our way to the Giant House, the total opposite with everything supersized. Appropriately the giant house had to have beautiful giant sunflowers surrounding it. Once inside, we were greeted by this really loud groaning noise and it took a few seconds before I realised that it was supposed to be the sounds of Mr Giant snoring!

Once we finished that apple we made our way to the Haunted Mansion which looked rather interesting but not too scary to shock the life out of you. Once inside I realised that a deaf person wouldn't be the least bit frightened in the place. Thanks to the flight, the sounds didn't affect me as much as some (rather dramatic) people were. The mansion was almost pitch black with a few neon footsteps painted onto the floor to tell you where to walk. Some places really got too dark for me to continue and I had to use the flash on my camera to see if it's the right way to go, but some of them caught rather good images at the same time. It was quite fun overall but with Amy being totally blind in the darkness, I didn't bother suggesting a second round.
After all that shock-treatment given by the screaming people in the mansion, it was time to do something more mundane. So we headed for a ride on Antique Cars which we both enjoyed so much that we went for seconds, and almost thirds! I think we enjoyed it because it was something brainless yet fun in a childish sorta way. Plus for Amy, she was basically getting driven around by me (wishful thinking maybe?) as I had to step on the pedal to move the car and steer a little so the car would travel smoothly!
After all that fun, we decided to take on the Monorail Ride that showed us some things we didn't even notice on the map and basically made up our minds on where we should head onto next.
We were planning to go on the River Raft ride but decided against it as we didn't want to be wet when we went for lunch or when we got into Snow Town, which was right infront of us. So we were off to play in the cold, something I sure was looking forward to after I've been in the heat for almost 4 hours. When we got in, we were given boots and a jacket to keep warm but it wasn't anough for Amy and she had to take my hoodie as well. I was waiting for my perspiration to ice up ut that didn't happen although there were a few beads on my forehead.
Our little holiday nearly ended there when we tried to take a photo infront of Mr. Snowman. I lost my footing and just fell right down on my butt. Even with all that cushion it still hurt! I broke my spectacle frame and that's the reason why my hair was a mess in the photo. After smiling widely for the pic, I basically couldn't walk right and it was great that I had to climb a lot of stairs to get up to other rides and sorts.
When we got out and I felt good enough to continue (and not cry?), it was almost time for lunch and so we did a bit of souvenir shopping. During lunch we ended up meeting the rest of the group, which wasn't something we were looking forward to. From the start of this trip, there was this man in our group that we both didn't like. He was part of a group that was from goodness knows where in the world, and I think one of them was farting. From the start he was so bloody annoying and rude, and also a bit of a loud-mouthed show-off. The only thing throughout the whole trip that spoiled our day was seeing that bugger and I think he spoiled it for the lady that brought her son. She looked like she wanted to be left alone but that bugger would just keep bothering her, maybe hoping to hook up which is plain GROSS! Anyway, it was a good thing that we didn't have to go on every ride with them, Amy would have murdered him... I just know it! Good thing we didn't have to all sit at one particular table either.
After lunch it was agreed that we would be going for gentle... super gentle rides considering I couldn't even sit right. So we took a slow walk around the place while the rest went to watch some stunt show and we had the whole park to ourselves for taking pictures. Didn't bother climbing up and down in Fantasy World where there were dragons, a house made of candy, bushes trimmed to look like toy soldiers and extra-large fruits. There was a tiny little papaya tree next to the giant papaya, which was a little odd if you think about it. A few more steps and we finally got the the Train Ride that we wanted to take since we saw it passing at the 7 mini wonders.
Since it was almost time to get to our meeting point, we took our time looking through the souvenir shops we passed on our way in. Got a nice little photo-frame that would forever remind me of my fall, and it also started my hunt for a BLUE ELEPHANT plushie.
Once we were out of the park, I wanted to snack on a pack of popcorn. I then added a cup of buttered kernals and we decided that the really huge corn on sticks were something not to be missed. So the initial snack for me turned into a meal that was mainly, and plainly, CORN!
