This time I've paired up with Amy to enjoy a short little getaway in Bangkok which was planned to be full of tours and shopping. Getting the tours we wanted was a bit of a problem and up until we checked into our flight, we were still on the internet checking to confirm that we had something on the next day.

Then came the whole problem with the GE in which Amy thought that she had to vote and was trying her best (with the slow internet connection) to get info about her voting status and card. When it was flashing that our gate was closing, we had to leave the voting stuff to her sis and make our way to check in.

I guess we did have good timing as we got in just as they called our seat numbers to get our butts in and we just settled down in the plane to fill in our arrival cards.

When the plane taxied to the runway we got a glimpse of the budget terminal, as well as how most of the budget for that terminal went to lights. Even with it all blurred you can spot where it actually is in the pic.

Soon after we took off, we got our yummy meals as we watched the onboard movies. I opted for the seafood meal while Amy, unsure of what she wanted, just went for the standard onboard Green Curry Chicken meal that had a really yummy-looking Tiramisu. I'm not sure where the pic of my uncovered seafood meal went but I'll just put up the salad I was given just so my sis can remember.

Since the flight was really short and I had a choice of watching a complete cartoon or half a movie, I chose Hoodwinked, which was quite funny with all it's unexpected discovery regarding Grandma! Just as the show ended, everything was shut off and we landed in Bangkok.

After getting our photo taken at immigration (yup...they make you smile into the camera at customs), getting our bags, changing money and booking a cab for the trip back to the airport, we were on our way to our hotel to dump our stuff before we headed out to the nearest night market in Patpong. Yes, first night out and we were at the area famous for it's, as the locals straightforwardly put them, Sex/Pussy shows. Well I don't have a video of one of them as both of us weren't in the mood for such entertainment but we started shopping for stuff already. The plan was actually to get out and find a 7-11 to get my much needed Diet Coke, Coke for Amy, and a whole stash of drinking water, but we were side-tracked. Once we were done, we got back to the hotel and enjoyed snacks we got in the streets before we were off to dreamland, thinking of the trip to Dream World tomorrow!
