Day 3 was another day I slept in but was woken up by mom who wanted to feed me. Somehow, sleep was more important than food at that point. I wanted this holiday for a reason and sleep was at the top of the list. Today I get up a little earlier and watched DVDs with mom. I'm taking sloth to a new level! Dad comes back and we're off again in search of dinner. This time it was the local yum yums. Dad had a recommendation to go to the local market area to have their version of grilled fish. We ended up having the grilled fish, grilled chicken, and their version of Otak among other things. My favourite of the lot? The surprisingly spicy Otak with a really interesting dipping sauce. It looked like a grilled plain white fishcake, but it was really well peppered, add to that a spicy dipping sauce that tasted like a mix of chilli sauce and hae-ko! Ohhhh Yummy Yummy Yum Yum!
After dinner, it was time to walk around and explore the snacks available. So many stalls, so many choice... so little space in the tummy. Sometimes I wish I was built like a cow.
I decided that I wanted to try the nasi padang at the same place and so it was back to the same location for dinner the next night. This time we sat down and the food just came flying in...3..4..10...16 different dishes. 16!!! Oooohhh more decisions to make. In the end... we ate more than half the stuff served and spent about $15, including drinks. Cool.
