It's another day out with Michelle, and this time, she's also called Wai Ling along with little Lizzie (Brendan's Mini Me). On the way there, this car passed Michelle's and I was caught by the words on the back before I got a good look at the license plate. At that point, it was a little too far to take a good picture, but I still managed to get one clear enough.

License Plate: "GOLDIGGA"

Once we get there, it looks rather empty until we reach Sorrento Quay (where the food we were aiming for is located), and it was another parking lot hunt. It didn't take too long to get a spot, and head to Top Catch top meet up with WaiLing and Lizzie. Once we got there, we finally contacted WaiLing and learnt that she had to go back for her phone and that she was running a little late, and told us to go ahead and start. Just as we got our food, WaiLing and Lizzie arrive, just in time to enjoy some hot, crispy fish (& scallops) & chips.

Oh yes... almost forgot to mention that I enjoyed it with my favourite Coke Light with Lime. I got no idea why Singapore insists on making the one with Lemon that tastes horrible, and not get on the bandwagon and do this instead. Then again, I'm not sure why the one with Lime is so hard to find in WA. Don't stop making it! I'll always drink it! PROMISE!!!

*LOVE*

While enjoying your meal along this boardwalk, you're always entertained by the birds. They either stalk people from their perch on the bins, or they do fly pasts like the F16s on National Day. Thank goodness they just swoop past our heads and not leave things behind. Throw a chip at them and u watch how they will fight for it. (MWUAHAHAHAA!)

After lunch, I decided to take a walk around the boardwalk to look at the new shops that popped up since the last time I was here. WaiLing was looking for a new swim suit, and as she tried on some, we were dazzling Lizzie with shiny trinkets and the lovely range of chocolates from the Margaret River store. In the end, I was the one who ended up getting tempted by the things in that store and got little jars of preserves to try. Wai Ling sort of gave up after Lizzie started fussing and decided to bring her to play at the beach, leaving Michelle and I to hunt around for a wedding present. Oddly enough, we went into a shop that had really cute gifts for children and I decided to get something for Elias. Sadly I forgot to take a picture of the toy, but I found it really amusing with the cows spinning on it, as if they were all drunk.

Hey Shirley, Remember This?

Tai Tai Talking Biz?

We were almost done checking out all the shops when we got a whiff of something burning. As we walked towards Subway (if I remember right), we realised why we arrived at Sorrento Quay to a lovely view of some hunky firemen leaving the area. It seemed that there was a mishap and the place was closed due to a fire that broke out. I guess it wasn't that bad as nothing seemed to have been burnt. What a way to get a day or two off from work?

That brought us to the end of our little walk around the place and we headed out to meet WaiLing & Lizzie, maybe to catch some rays ourselves. Just as we were about to step out, we get a call from WaiLing to say that she's gonna head back as she & Lizzie were getting a little tired. So that was the end of our trip to Hillary Harbour, until I caught sight of what was behind a stone wall across the parking lot. Lovely soft sand and blue waters, something my eyes could not resist. However, with the knowledge of how cold the waters here were, and the fact that it was nice and sunny, but the winds were still keeping us cool, I wasn't going to even get my feet wet. I'll just keep this place in mind to bring mom and dad to. I guess dad would at least enjoy the fish & chips. Hahaha

Since it was still early, and so we decided to head to the huge shopping centre we saw on our way here. Michelle had to get some banking done, and a lot of time to kill before she drove to pick up Mark, so we we're strolling around the place checking out all the sales. Good thing too as I finally got a pair of boots that were comfortable, looked good on my fat legs, and were WAY cheap! Already thinking that they were going cheap at half price, I was lucky enough to get the last pair, which gave me another discount on the final price. Then I spent a little more at my new favourite store, City Chic, with all the clothes that fit & look good! :D

Having to end the nice day out with Michelle, we were off to the nearest train station to drop my butt off as my sis' place was a little out of the way. After getting to the closest station to my sis' place, I managed to get Brendan to pick me up and haul my arse back together with my shopping.

Once home, I see my sis in bed, a little tired form her day and the bad migraine that was just starting to ease off. I asked if she wanted to check out the stuff I got and I think it made her feel better. I think shopping would have been the best medicine, but I guess looking at what shopping I did helped too. Hmmm... I think she's a shopaholic.

After showing her all the things I got, and getting into something more comfortable, my sis was getting some work done when Brendan was making dinner. Wondering what he was fiddling with, I realised he needed a little help with rolling up his quesadillas (although they don't have to be sealed up) as his filling was falling all over the place. So after getting everything into the baking dish, and using up all the sauce and cheese, dinner was chucked into the oven.

A few minutes later, Brendan was serving up his masterpiece, although slightly messy with all the gooey cheese. Taking a bite, I thought I'd bring out the tomato relish & chilli jam I got earlier in the day to add a bit of zing. Not to say his dish wasn't yummy on it's own, but I seemed to have some strange fetish with tomato chutney lately. Good thing though, because my sis and Brendan seemed to enjoy theirs with a bit of the preserves as well. Something new I guess?
