This time, we walked around the vicinity of the hotel, taking pictures of anything interesting, and realised that right opposite the hotel was actually a park. Who has time for parks when there's so much more things to look for anyway?
Not able to find the salted fish, or any goose in sight, we went to the building right next to the hotel and found something we could have for lunch. It was a restaurant selling South East Asian cuisine, and I honestly don't know why we ended up eating there other than a lack of choice. If I did, I wouldn't go back there unless I was really (x10) craving chicken rice.
Then the rain started coming down again and so we decided to just chill in the hotel room and make sure that the cab driver would be arriving. After trying to converse with him in the best Cantonese I could muster, we had to arrange for another cab, and just bothered the receptionist at the hotel instead.
Not long after, we were on our way to the airport, leaving a rather gloomy-looking Hong Kong.
Got our bags checked, almost later for the plane because of their strange system, and we end up sitting in the plane for a little longer than we're used to. The power in the cabin suddenly shuts off and comes on again, as though they had to restart the plane, then the cabin starts getting a bit warm and stuffy. Minutes later, an announcement comes over the intercom to let everyone know that the plane was having some technical problems, and that we'd have to wait it out while people got to fixing said technical problem. The plane then taxis to a corner of the airport and we're parked next to a few other planes that seem to have technical problems as well.
About an hour later in the warm cabin, the two stewards at the back decide to come out and do a bit of work, just because we were about to fly and they had to do their proper checks. Then came the blow for them, the video wasn't working and they had to present a manual safety demo. Oh well, I guess if you did your job right, there won't be a need to fear anyone recording the demonstration is there?
Anyway, the flight finally took off more than an hour late, we got a rather rubbish box of snacks for the 3-hour flight, and was glad we made it back home. I think I won't fly with them anytime soon.
