It has been a while since Adi travelled overseas without the family and when her dad heard of this trip, he and Adi's stepmother came to see us off at the airport. Guess he wanted to make sure that I would be a good bodyguard, or just make sure that she's in good company.

The journey started out rather wet but that didn't dampen our excitement of landing in another country.

I guessed it rained in Jakarta as well as we had quite a few areas flooded along the route from the airport to the serviced apartments dad works at. With the typical Jakarta traffic jams, Adi started looking like a photo journalist taking pictures like she was doing a story on the floods affecting the life of farmers. We finally reach the apartments about 2 hours after leaving the airport and it was already time for dinner. Good thing for us, dinner was available just across the road and we didn't have to take another hour in the slow-moving traffic.

First dinner in Jakarta was a very spicy chicken rice. It could have been less potent if we decided to set the chilli aside, but being a sucker for spicy stuff, we had to eat it all. Eat it all and then suffer the consequences of leaky noses, which is actually good when you need to clear your nostrils of the pollution filtered in them.
